Marching to the Sea, their dreams stay in the shadows. Their dreams stay firmly rooted in the shallows.

currently listening to: The Horrors - "Sea within a Sea"

My new favourite song to listen to whilst drifting off to sleep is "Sea within a Sea" by The Horrors. It's eight whole minutes of calming, broody rock music that quiets the mind. I'm not very familiar with this band at all, but I've always been intrigued by their fashion choices (especially at the time of their first album), and now after this song, I want to check out more of their stuff. We shall see how it goes.

In other news, Autumn is my favourite season, and I always end up loving the Autumn issues of magazines because they have the BEST clothes. I just got the new Teen Vogue because I couldn't stop drooling over all the gorgeous outfits that graced the pages. And I must say, I'm craving many of the accessories featured in this issue as well. One in particular was a headband they put on the cover girl, Emma Watson's hair for her pictorial. It comes from JenniferBehr.com, and it looks like a thin leather band with silver spikes on it. (Like punk cuffs):

The particular one featured in the magazine costs $175. Uhhhh... yeah. That ain't happening, people. So what did I do to satisfy my craving? Only the same thing I've been doing a lot of lately: You gatta think fast on your feet in this day's economy! I dug up my old, thin, spiky leather belt I got for like $5 from my Hot Topic days, chopped it up with my scissors, and attached it to a plastic Scunci headband from the drugstore. (I think they come 5 to a pack).

The end result:

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself :)

It'll probably fall apart after a couple of wears, but I can always reattach it to another plastic band. It's no real biggie.

Next on the list of overpriced designer headbands that I want to try to mimic are chains and zippers, (both still by jenniferbehr.com):

Shouldn't be too hard to do, right? What do we think??

Other things I spied in this issue that I am currently craving:

Army green Platoon shirt from Volcom.

Biker boot from Frye.

This ENTIRE outfit, from the DSquared Fall collection. Especially that leopard jacket!!

GRRR. Why was I cursed with the love for fashion. Why.
