I want to know how to survive in the nightlife.

HOLY WOWNESS. Just... wow.

I don't do a very good job of updating these days, but I do miss my random little bloggie world.  Here's a quick life update of the past month:  After experiencing a horrible bout of health issues mid month, I was looking forward to some de-stressing/relaxation for my birthday at the end of January. Alas, I got to "celebrate" it by working at my day job all day long! It actually wasn't all that bad, though, considering I actually enjoy the company of my coworkers and loved having them tell me how much they loved the cupcakes that I had brought in.  I worked till late at night and didn't get to TRULY celebrate outside of work, though.  But oh well. To be completely honest, birthdays stopped having any meaning for me after I passed 18.  How sad is that?

Fast forward to present day Valentine's 2011.  After engorging on chocolate covered strawberries, I'm currently craving new musical, auditory candy to spoil my ears rotten with, and am on a mission to find some good stuff to kick me onto Inspiration Road once again... (huh??). I've found last.fm to be a great source of stumbling upon new, unheard sounds and voices.  At this very moment, I'm trying to find cool Latin/Spanish speaking artists to listen to. Being that I *am* a native Spanish speaker/Mexican American chick, I find it kind of uncool that I'm not more familiar with the music that Spanish-speaking countries have to offer. Well, I'm familiar with *some* stuff, but it's mainly the mainstream, uber genre-specific stuff that they talk about on the celebrity gossip shows that my mother watches, and I'm not into it... like... at all.  The 'popular' stuff out there seems to consist solely of spanish rap/reggaeton/club music or accordion stuff played by doods in matching rhinestone jackets and cowboy hats... the complete OPPOSITE of what I'm searching for! Where are all the ROCKERS of the Latin world?? Are there no Latino versions of Kill Hannah or HIM, or My Chemical Romance?? I WANT SOME SPANISH ROCK MUSIC!!  A really good band that I happen to be into is Hotel Persona, based out of Spain. But the only reason I really even know about them is because it happens to be Stefan Olsdal's, (of one of my favourite English bands, Placebo), side project ;)
So for anyone out there actually reading this right now, who happens to know of some stuff I might be into, please leave a comment below. (Si hablo el español, asi es que si alguien tiene sugerencias, porfavor diganme!)

Aside from that, I've been busy losing my mind over trying to construct new clothing items to show off.  I think most people truly don't realize just how time-consuming/difficult sewing items from scratch really is.  It eats up half of my life.  I can't wait till I'm rich enough to afford sewing room assistants to take some of the load off my back. Or just assistants in general, like the ones you see on tv shows, who write out your entire day in list form and read it out to you in the morning when they hand you your custom coffee. And remind you of important, upcoming events, answer your phone, and run out to the office supply store to buy more ink for your printer when you need it. You know... the little things ;)
I've also been working on a super updated/more sophisticated version of my current anarchicdesigns.com, but it's had to be put on the back burner because I'm just. So. Tired.
All the time.

And since my health scare last month, I'm trying to listen to my body more often, and giving it more TLC.  After all, I'm not very useful to people and things when I have no strength.

And that was a lot longer than I expected it to be.  But I enjoyed typing all that... I think I'll try to do more journal-style updates more often.

Bejeweled skull = hand customized bday present from a good friend, leather jacket = Bebe, (found at a second hand store for under $50. Eat your heart out, Billy Kaulitz ;P)
