LAZY SUNDAY: Random.
It seems like every designer out there (at some point or another) always wants to create a collection inspired by old Hollywood glamour and the screen goddesses of eras past. It's kind of getting to be a big fat YAWN.
But leave it to Jean Paul Gaultier to put some spice into it. For his Fall 2009 collection, he had a lot of vintage inspired looks, but the thing I couldn't help noticing is that they all had a dark futuristic twist to them.
This one's my fave:
Is this a leather sailor hat?? Genius.
And then out of nowhere comes a model who's the exact replica of Daryl Hannah as Pris from Bladerunner. Which made no sense in this show whatsoever...
But then again, fashion's not SUPPOSED to make sense, right?

Oh my! That brown pinstripe outfit is GAWGEOUS! I would so wear it if I had nicer legs. I'm hearin' ya though- everyone tries to revamp old-school hollywood glam, and it's getting a tad predictable....I do like the futuristic twist though! haha, I dig the pris reference. I must admit, I LOVE that hair :D
I hope not, otherwise it I'm too stupid to make it make sense. I love how subtly this combines the two. It's just weird enough to be something different!
