baby don't take too long... 'cause I feel just like LETTING GO.

Time Capsule

Last week I got ahold of a Vogue from the year 2000 to use for a project. I flipped through it before I annihilated it with my scissors and was reminded of the Vh1/Vogue Fashion Awards from that time period...

What happened to those awards??!?!??!

Why did they just disappear like that??

They had categories like "Most Stylish Video", "Most Fashionable Artist" (kinda sounds like my blog, eh??), "Most Visionary Video", (which was won by the Smashing Pumpkins - hell yes), and of course "Fashion Designer of the Year".

Can you imagine how big that awards show would be this day and age? I think they need to bring it back. Somebody please. PLEASE.

Make life worth living, for crying out loud. At least for an hour or two a year??

I mean, seriously, do I have to do EVERYTHING around here??!! (haha now I'm just getting crazy).

VH1/VOGUE FASHION AWARDS 2000

BEST CELEBRITY STYLE (FEMALE): Chloe Sevigny

MOST STYLISH VIDEO: No Doubt - Ex Girlfriend

MOST VISIONARY VIDEO: Smashing Pumpkins - Stand Inside Your Love

could not agree more.

You know how hard it can be to keep believing in me.

currently listening to: Emilie Autumn

lazy bloody sunday

I'm your Opheliac.

I've been so disillusioned.

I know you'd take me back,

but still I feign confusion.

I couldn't be your friend.

My world was too unstable.

You might have seen the end.

But you were never able to keep me breathing.

> Insert Cool Song Lyric-Title Here <

currently listening to: the voices in my head. (and they're driving me mad!!)

Still two hours of "lazy" Sunday-ness left, so here's my random post of the (Sun)day.

Time Capsule:
who remembers Chris Corner with a blondish shag, playing around and trying on lots of fabulous clothes in this gigantic closet in the Sneaker Pimps video for "Sick"??

A man after my own heart, he is. When I have my own boutique/showroom, I hope to one day find him there, frolicking around through all the racks of fabulous creations made by me, telling me how much he adores them and that he'll take one of everything.

Yes, darling. Anything for you.

Fast forward to the darker hair... still in Sneaker Pimps, but just as he was becoming "X"...

Coco Chanel headband?? Yes please.

In other news: School started up again last week so I apologize for the lack of posting. Hopefully things will calm down a little more this week, and even if they don't I shall find a way to blog more!! And share all of my school (as well as other, beyond epic) projects with you!!

She says she's dressed top notch, with a look that can kill, but she says that just to make you think her life is fullfilled.

LAZY SUNDAY: Random.

It seems like every designer out there (at some point or another) always wants to create a collection inspired by old Hollywood glamour and the screen goddesses of eras past. It's kind of getting to be a big fat YAWN.

But leave it to Jean Paul Gaultier to put some spice into it. For his Fall 2009 collection, he had a lot of vintage inspired looks, but the thing I couldn't help noticing is that they all had a dark futuristic twist to them.

This one's my fave:

Is this a leather sailor hat?? Genius.

And then out of nowhere comes a model who's the exact replica of Daryl Hannah as Pris from Bladerunner. Which made no sense in this show whatsoever...

But then again, fashion's not SUPPOSED to make sense, right?

If you wanna steal, you better learn how to lie. If you wanna live you better not fear how you die. Heaven and Hell are just a myth.

SO YOU BETTER PAY ATTENTION TO THIS MOMENT.

Introducing Lazy Sunday Pictures from my Crackberry Volume DOS:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, what a ride!'"

Would you wear this shirt??

I wanna do this in my room, dammit. I need comics! Tons of 'em!

This is Donuts. He's the cutest kitty ever. (And he smells like Donuts!!)

Haha, my friend's mom keeps track of how many trick or treaters they get on Havokween. Apparently they had 57 in 2006.
There really *IS* such a thing as "too much cake" sometimes...

All the things that you set aside.. all the friends that you leave behind (just so the curtain will rise). And it feels like the first time.

currently listening to: Kill Hannah - Mouth to Mouth (live version of the brand new track), New York City Speed (new version), Until There's Nothing Left of Us.

Presenting... Lazy Sunday: Pictures from my Crackberry Edition.
(yes, an idea taken from the Raccoon Society blogs...sue me.)

This has been the temperature reading inside my car for the past couple of weeks. (105F in case you can't see).
This shit is BANANAS!!!

"QUACK!"

I found the Goth section at the fabric store. For all my "dark visions". Yes.

Is it Taco Bell? or is it Pizza Hut?... it's both!! (can you believe I eat this garbage?)

Browsed this book at Half Price books the other day. It showed off the interior decorating choices of the world's most infamous maniacs, including everyone's favourites: Hitler and Hussein. Seriously. Not even joking here.

Received a postcard from my friend from when she visited the Cayman Islands last week. Apparantly the Devil goes to Stingray City.

The End... for this week. Hopefully I'll have more for next sunday!!

In other news:

-Today was exactly one year ago that I met one of my heroes.

-a coworker told me I'm "cute" when I sneeze. Should I be trying to sneeze more often??

-Shrimp tempura sweet rolls, warm and salted edamame, tempura veggies, and sweet milk tea with tapioca = best dinner ever.

-Shaved ice topped with sliced mango, ice cream and condensed milk = best dessert ever.

-September will be the best month of the year.

EDIT: I just realized I used a line from the exact same song that I used to title my last post for this post. I've been listening to that album nonstop since then!! Whoo!!

Dying just to Survive: It feels like the first time.

Currently listening to: Kill Hannah - Until There's Nothing Left of Us

SO.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of these kinds of dresses everywhere: they're part tank top (on top) and then have a simple little skirt in a contrasting fabric attached at the bottom.

from Wet Seal:

From Urban Outfitters:

I thought to myself, "hey, those look pretty comfy and breezy and cute. But they're kinda boring... and not to mention pricey. (That first one from Urban is $88!!). Wait a second... all it is is a tank top with a cotton skirt attached... I bet I can make one!"

And so I did.

(Actually, I made two).

Total price: $0. I just used stuff I already had :)

I'm proud of them. I'm thankful that I'm at least somewhat able to be thrifty and crafty when I can't have the real thing.

IN YOUR FACE, OVERPRICED OUTFITTERS.

Eighty eight dollars. Don't make me laugh.

Thoughts and Opinions please!!!! Do you like the ones I made? Are they cuter than the store ones?? Shall I embellish them further?? What do you think?!?!?

Like a bed of roses, there's a dozen reasons in this gun. I will sell my soul for something pure and true... Someone like you.

currently listening to: Garbage - "Number One Crush", My Chemical Romance - "Demolition Lovers", both on repeat.

I finally saw Twilight at my friend's house on Friday. Overall I found it kind of hilarious and my friend and I found ourselves coming up with our own dialogue throughout most of it. Do you have any idea how many amusing facial expressions are in that movie? It's just BEGGING to be mocked. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it... just don't expect me to become a full fledged obsessive maniac over it. I enjoyed it's entertainment value that kept me from being bored. But that's it. I don't really care much for it other than that. I'm not fifteen anymore.

(But sometimes I wish I still were).
