She's ripping wings off of butterflies.

Yeah, so I can't remember how long ago my last "Stylish Rockstar of the Week" post was. Two weeks ago? Three weeks? I don't know. But I do remember who it was! It was Gerard Way! (Adooooore him).

But anyways. Here's number fourteen, finally!!!

I SPY: STYLISH ROCKSTAR OF THE WEEK - WEEK FOURTEEN (sorta) - HAYLEY WILLIAMS (PARAMORE) For crying out loud... these posts need to stop going on hiatus.

Ummm.. so I think my favourite way to "spy" Rock Stars is by sitting on the couch staring at the latest music videos, (whenever Fuse feels like playing good ones, that is).

So I actually "spied" Ms. Williams in this video last week, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it. Would you believe that this is actually the very first time that I've RECOGNIZED what someone is wearing?! In this latest Paramore video of the song "Brick by Boring Brick", they went with a sort of 'Alice in Wonderland/fantasy world' theme, and naturally, whenever you want to achieve a look like that you immediately should reach for something that comes from Japan. The look is called "LOLITA", people...








I knew I recognized this particular style of dress and print on it... but I couldn't remember the NAME of the brand. So after doing some research, I found out I wasn't alone in recognizing it.

And yes, the name of the brand is BODYLINE. (And YES, THEY ARE JAPANESE!) This is the exact same dress Hayley is wearing:



I knew it was either this line, (because it reminded me of the famous white with black music notes design they had once), or Baby, The Stars Shine Bright.




And, of course, another major Japanese Lolita style brand is Angelic Pretty - (the pink dress I'm wearing in my current profile pic is from this brand). These are a lot more girly.




And, of course, I want every single one of these. Yes.

If you'd like to imitate this look, my first recommendation would be to check ebay, because the sites for these Japanese brands are hard to translate/figure out, and not only that, but certain designs sell completely out, faster than you can say "Kawaii!". (That means 'cute'). The thing to remember if you want a sleeveless/tank top style like Hayley's is that you want what's called a "jumper skirt". If you click on "dress", you get the ones with the puffy sleeves, like the one I have on in my pic.

But yes, you can easily find similar styles (and all sorts of others in different colours and designs) on ebay, or even find people who can make you a custom one.

Like Anarchic Designs, for example ;)

I NEED to try my hand at making these frilly things. But then I might not be able to part with them. Ha. The Curse of the Designer.





But yeah. Something to think about. Dressing up is fun.
