Let's get down in Barcelona - where we'll be dancing like no tomorrow.

Trying out a semi-new layout here. Bear with me while I test drive it. I think it might work... now everyone will be less distracted by my side bar racket if this part is nice and stretched out, no? I can't help it if I love my sidebar so much. Sue me.

But anyways...

I'm sure everyone caught the latest episode of Gossip Girl on Monday, right? (hahaha). If you DID, you might have spied this super cool, (new?), all girl band playing during the party/cotillion/whatever scenes. And if you're a Nylon magazine reader, you might have recognized this band as The Plasticines, seeing as how they get featured in nearly every single issue. (Or so it seems).

I SPY: STYLISH ROCKSTARS OF THE WEEK - WEEK TWELVE - THE PLASTICINES
on Gossip Girl... ooh la la.

I must admit that their music is uber catchy and fun to sing along to. (Don't you think?)

And of course they also happen to be uber fashionable ladies. But that's a given, of course, since they happen to be FRENCH. French women are just naturally BORN fashionable, in case you didn't know.

But, yes, their onstage look is quite glamorous, pretty, and put together. These girls are NOT into the grungy, rocker-chick look. And that's kind of why they rule.

Let's all emulate the looks they wore on the show!!

I found an almost identical version of the dress singer Katty was wearing:

It's all about the strong shoulders! (haha so 80's! eek!)

from Urban Outfitters: $58

but if you feel like you're not into the whole shoulder-pad trend, try one like this:

T by Alexander Wang on shopbop.com: $90

There's lots of different kinds of sequin dresses out there this season, but here's one I liked that sort of looks like Louise's (bass).

from Velvet on shopbop.com: $209

Rachel Pally on shopbop.com: $97 for this comfy looking stripey getup a la guitar player's:

And, finally, the drummer was wearing a cute leather jacket, (also easily found nearly everywhere this season).

This particular one I liked is from Urban Outfitters: $128

I think I will be downloading the rest of these chicks' album now.

Oh, and before I forget: my favourite band, Kill Hannah, was in an unfortunate event earlier this week in which their tour van and over $120,000 worth of gear and merch was STOLEN. They were able to get the van and trailer back, but no sign anywhere of their instruments and everything else.

It broke my heart to hear, seeing as how barely one year has passed since a similar incident befell them of getting all their gear burned in a bus fire.

But some of the fans have started up a donation fund to help them out, and if you happen to have any extra cash lying around and if you want GOOD KARMA...

please go here: http://killhannah.net/donate/

my rotten, black little heart thanks you.

The Littlest Things...

Finally...

After a one week hiatus:

I SPY: STYLISH ROCKSTAR OF THE WEEK - WEEK NINE - LILY ALLEN

Ok, so she's not really a "ROCKSTAR", (yeah one of my pet peeves is actually when pop stars get called "rock stars" so yeahhhh) but I wasn't able to find a true rocker that caught my attention this week, (yet again!). And besides, it's about time I mention a chick on this feature, eh??

I've always admired Miss Allen's quirky British style. I spied her at the newsstand today on the cover of the UK version of Elle magazine. I didn't feel like paying $10 for the thing, so here's the pics I found online:

Wigs rule.

I've always secretly wondered what it would be like being a platinum blonde. (Ew did I really just admit that?)

According to elleuk.com, some of the clothes featured in this shoot were from Luella, Richard Nicoll and Christopher Bailey (for Burberry), amongst others.

Viva British Fashion!!!!!!!

I browsed around for some similar key items for emulating the feel of this pictorial:

Lace tights: Hottopic.com - $8

Sheer dress: urbanoutfitters.com - $48

metallic dress: forever21.com - $25

Now all we need is a blonde wig and we're set!!!!!

WEEK FOUR: MAT DEVINE (KILL HANNAH)

Tokyo: It's in our blood.

Happy first day of October!! Quick 'shout out' to all my STUNT PILOTS: I adore you all. And I adore when you comment... I replied to everyone who commented on my last post, so be sure to check that out ;)

Don't have anything new to report today, but I just wanted to post something random because I'm addicted to my blog. And to other people's blogs. And to autumn. I'm so excited for it this year. I don't know why.

Fall means fashion fashion fashion.
COSTUMES.
Dressing up and makeup.

Some inspiration:

Now if it would just hurry up and get a bit COLDER outside. Hmph.

It ain't the money, and is sure as hell ain't just for the fame. (It's for the bodies I claim, and those only go so far...)

currently listening to: My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Muthafucking Revenge

Who remembers Barbie?? I think most (if not ALL) girls out there have owned at least ONE of these dollies in their lifetime. (As for me, well, I had a ton!). Let's forget about all the negativity associated with the woman for a second, how unreal her body is and whatnot.. (boo hoo), and just concentrate on the one thing that can't be ignored: They put her in some of the most gorgeous clothes EVER.

I saw a commercial for this new Barbie yesterday, and I was beyond intrigued:

It's Barbie and the THREE MUSKETEERS, PEOPLE!!!

This first picture isn't that clear, but I fell in love with the MASKS:

And she comes with a SWORD!!!!!!

I don't know about you, but I totally wanna be the purple one for halloween. (Er, excuse me, HAVOKwe'en).

And if I recall correctly, Austin Scarlett (one of my all time favourite designers from the first season of Project Runway), had a collection of musketeer-inspired looks a few years ago:

And he's also known to dress like one himself. But I couldn't find a good picture of that :(

And while we're on the subject of fashion, you know the best part about going to fashion school is? The homework! I get to pore over fashion magazines to look for good pictures to use in collages!!! My first assignment for fashion history class is finding random celebrities and models to collage in ancient Egyptian dress. I'm almost pretty darn sure that I'm in the right profession here...

Jealous much?

be back later, I hope! I have so much to blog about!!

We weren't put here just to wait, you know...

It's only been two days since my last post but it feels like two weeks. I need to stop neglecting this blog so much. Haven't had time to dye my hair yet, but I'm still thinking about it. I should squeeze that in sometime this week during shopping and sewing, and redecorating my room. If I can.

ANYways...

I haven't been able to stop staring at the latest issue of Nylon. I really kind of have a love/hate relationship with that magazine. Sometimes it bores me to death or fails to get my attention in a positive way... other times I love it to pieces.

These are my favourite pages from this current issue: And, once again, I apoligize for the crappy quality of the photos taken with my digital camera. I don't own a scanner. Blah.

*Super cute spread featuring Taylor Momsen. How adorable is she? I still can't believe she's only 15... did anyone here look like this at 15? 'Cause I sure didn't.

*LOVING the clown/mime/harlequin styling. I wish I could do this hairstyle on my hair.

*I couldn't stop staring at this page. I love love LOVE this outfit. I'm not even sure why:

*And finally... I'm a sucker for short skirts/dresses. The shorter the better ;) haha, but seriously, this vintage dress is super cute. Maybe I can try to make one like it. Different colours, of course. And shoes. I need new shoes. I never thought I'd become one of those girls that becomes obsessed with cute shoes/heels but somewhere along the line I did. Shoes complete the outfit, after all.

Oh, and who remembers Samara... the uber creepy, yet somehow cute little girl that crawls out of the television screen in The Ring and killed everyone?? She's eighteen years old now!! That's her in the last photo!! How cool is that?!

"You have seven days."

HA!

I want to I want to be someone else or I'll explode Floating upon this surface for the birds The birds The birds

For this Lazy Sunday edition, I'm posting pics of 10 things I loved about this past week, in no particular order: (and okay, I kinda cheated. The last two items are videos and not pictures, haha).

10 - Latest issue of the Gothic&Lolita Bible - Wedding Edition
9 - Newest issue of Nylon with Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby on the cover... so colourful!
8 - My new phone :) You can't see very well but I have a cute picture of cupcakes as my background.
7 - FINALLY found a copy of Romeo + Juliet on dvd. This one is the "music edition", which features a cool virtual music box with each song that plays during the movie. It also came with a cute postcard. But the one thing that bothers me is the doctored picture on the cover. Romeo was wearing a knight costume during the time he spent kissing Juliet in the angel costume at that masquerade party... the horrible hawaiian print shirt didn't come into play till later... someone has mad photoshop skills.
6 - finally finishing up one of the hardest parts of my 5 part project for my Textiles class. I got a good grade... more info coming soon.
5 - Cute raccoon hoodie that I ordered off ebay finally arrived all the way from Hong Kong.
4 - I stumbled across the cutest website ever and I want to spend money on it very badly.
3 - Listened to this last night.

2 - Loving this cover of Muse's "Time is Running Out" done by Amanda Palmer at Coachella. I love her outfit too.

1 - And finally... I'm loving this video/song featuring Gerard Way for an upcoming Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack:

I had a friend who changed his name but couldn’t change himself. Never quite figured out how to deal with what life had dealt.

Old people shouldn't be allowed to drive. Sounds mean, but come on now... you know you feel the same way.

Movies I saw this past week: Romeo + Juliet (said it once and I'll say it again: I'll NEVER get tired of that movie! I'm getting better at memorizing Shakesperean lines. Fun.), Paranoid Park featuring Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl... Scene in Paranoid Park lol. Pictures, Images and Photos

... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Johnnyyyyyyy), first half of The Matrix (hadn't seen this one in a while, but I couldn't stay up too late and so I called it quits by 2a.m. seeing as how it was messing with my mind a little too much), and finally tonight I caught the first half of Fight Club. For some reason I've never been able to make it through that entire film. I don't know why. Tonight I think I just lost interest. But I do always enjoy seeing Brad Pitt walking around in that funny lilac bathrobe with the cutesy coffe mug appliques... oh my god I just found the actual site that sells them!!

tyler durden bathrobe Pictures, Images and Photos

Too hilarious.

Tyler DURden.

Wonder what moogies I'll watch this week. Can't wait.

If anyone cares to make any suggestions/recommendations, please do :) I'm still trying to decide whether Twilight is worth watching or not. Someone wanna convince me?
